CONCERN is growing for the welfare of a missing Bridgwater woman after her handbag was found in Bristol. 

Linda Pruvedenti, 55 from Bridgwater was last seen in Highbridge on Sunday (November 19). 

Police are growing increasingly concerned for her welfare after her handbag was subsequently found in the Cotham area of Bristol on November 20. 

Detective Inspector Angela Burtonwood said: “Linda’s disappearance is out of character and we’re growing increasingly concerned for her welfare.

“We believe she’s likely to be in the Bristol area but she may also have travelled outside of the city.

“I’d like to appeal to anyone who sees her, or thinks they may know where she might be, to contact us immediately.”

A spokesman for Avon and Somerset Police said she is described as white, approximately 5ft 6ins tall and of large build.

She suffers from alopecia so may be wearing a headscarf or a wig.
