MULTIPLE crashes at around the same time caused hours of delays for motorists.
Emergency services were on the scene northbound between junction 22 Burnham-on-Sea and 21 Weston Super Mare at around noon (Sunday, Novemebr 19).
Multiple police cars, fire engines and ambulances attended to deal with the crashes.
One of the incidents saw firefighters and paramedics rescue a child who was trapped in one of the vehicles involved.
Reports on from social media suggest around 20 cars were involved in the crashes.

Motorists experienced hours of delays as traffic was held while the incidents are dealt with.
All three lanes were reopened at around 1.30pm but delays are still expected while the congestion clears.
