AN OVEN was completely destroyed after kitchen fire near Bridgwater.
Three fire engines from Glastonbury, Street and Bridgwater were called to Taunton Road, Pedwell, at around 5.13pm yesterday (November 18).
The resident called the fire service to report that the cooker was on fire.
On arrival crews found that some tea towels and a portable plastic appliance, which had been left on the top of the cooker, had caught fire.
They used breathing apparatus, a safety jet and a hose reel jet to extinguish the fire.
The fire service confirmed their were no casualties but the cooker was 100 per cent damaged, the kitchen was 50 per cent smoke and heat damaged. The rest of the house was 80 per cent smoke damaged.
