THE sun is shining, there's not a cloud in the sky and it's starting to finally feel like summer.

But our rain free days will come to an end on Sunday.

The Met Office has put out a yellow warning for heavy rain across Somerset on Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday (May 28 and 29).

The warning is in place from noon on Sunday until noon on Monday.

An assessment from the chief forecaster said: "Torrential rain and thunderstorms could give as much as 30mm, possibly 40mm in an hour in places.

"It is not certain where flooding impacts may occur, but it is likely to be in a few places rather than across the whole warning area.

"Lightning strikes are also possible, which bring a chance of power cuts."
