THE Minehead Beat Team will be holding their first ‘Coffee with Cops’ event on Tuesday, May 2.

You can raise local concerns, get advice or just have a quick chat with your local plod over a brew.

These events aim to make the team more accessible to their communities and will be held at different cafes and locations around the town so residents can sit down over a coffee and have a chat with their local officers in a friendly and relaxed environment.

PC Joe Sanderson said: “We want to run events like this so we are out and about in our community, visible and accessible at times and in places that make it easy for people to speak to us.

“I will be with my colleagues PCSOs Emma Hill and Katherine Williams at Chambers, The Avenue, Minehead on the 2nd between 10:30am and 12:30pm. Please drop in, grab a cuppa and have a chat with us. We can listen to any crime, ASB or community issues you might have, give advice or just have a chat.

“It’s an opportunity for local people to get to know our faces and see that they do have a local neighbourhood team. It’s also an opportunity for some of our smaller residents to perhaps come with parents and meet us so they can see we aren’t scary and that we are there if they ever need us.”
