FIREFIGHTERS were called out to help put out a car fire following a crash in Bridgwater.
Crews were called out by police to Bath Road shortly before 8am this morning (Wednesday, April 26) because the car was smoking following the impact.
Fortunately it was a relatively minor crash and all persons were free and clear of the vehicle on arrival.
A spokesman for Devon and Somerset Fire and Resuce said: "On arrival and after liaising with police our crew confirmed that the small fire was out on our arrival, after the police used a fire extinguisher to put it out.
"We made sure the fire was extinguished, by checking the area with a thermal imaging camera, before making the vehicle and scene safe. Duty of care was then left with the police."
