BURNHAM-on-Sea Railway Heritage Group held a special event to mark the unveiling of a number of historical artefacts.

The historical items were installed around the site of the former Somerset and Dorset Railway line into Burnham-on-Sea to mark the 50th anniversary of the closure of the line in 1966.

The event was held around Burnham's town green on March 23 and was attended by Cllr Ian Dyer, chairman of Sedgemoor District Council, councillors from Burnham and Highbridge Town Council and members of the public.

The items installed include a replica station name board, a replica signal, a replica information panel and a weather vane.

At the ceremony, Marine Drive from the entrance to Burnham on Sea Holiday Village to the junction with Pier Street has been renamed 'Old Station Approach'.
