THE Foo Fighters have played a special gig in Frome to announce their headline slot at this year's Glastonbury Festival.
Fans were arriving in the Somerset town - with and without tickets - for the 'secret' show at the Cheese and Grain venue throughout the day.
Many tweeted pictures from the show and meeting band members, including guitarist Pat Smear and frontman Dave Grohl, outside the venue.
The show opened with a video featuring the band at Worthy Farm, Pilton, expecting to play the legendary festival, only to be told by Michael and Emily Eavis they are a few months too early, but could play at a nearby venue...
Festival founder Michael Eavis then introduced the band at the Cheese and Grain, saying they would be headlining Saturday night at the festival, which runs from June 21 to 25.
"Be there or be square," he said.
The band then stormed on to the stage, launching into Learn To Fly, fitting in with the theme of the announcement promotion.
So there you have it, the Foo Fighters in Frome. The first time they will be in Somerset this year...
