NEW: Catherine Herbert has been chosen as the new deputy mayor
THE new deputy mayor for Taunton Deane has been selected.
Cllr Catherine Herbert, the current executive member for sports and leisure, will take office for 2017-18 as deputy mayor, and go on to be mayor in 2018-19.
Current deputy mayor Hazel Prior-Sankey will take office as mayor replacing Cllr Vivienne Stock-Williams.
The appointments will be formalised at the mayor-making event on May 11.
