CUSTOMERS will be able to buy more products when Langport Post Office moves to Fosters News, in Bow Street.

The date of the relocation from North Street has not yet been announced, but the new opening hours will be 8am to 5.30pm Monday to Friday and 8am to 4pm on Saturday - an extra six and a half hours.

The modern, open-plan local style branch with two tills is part of a major modernisation programme across the Post Office network.

The enhanced range of products will include manual banking, Transcash and Royal Mail and Parcelforce International services.

Suzanne Richardson, regional network manager, said: “We are making it easier for customers to get their cash, send and collect their mail and do their banking because we know how important these services are to local residents.

"We are confident that this vibrant new-style post office at the heart of the local community will meet customer needs.

"This modernisation is part of a major investment programme, the largest in the history of the Post Office and will secure services for the future.”
