THE organisers of Burnham-on-Sea wine club have launched a second wine club in Cannington.

Cannington Wine Club was launched last week at Cannington by Candlelight on Sunday and has already been quite popular.

Organiser say the aim of the new wine club is to learn more about wine, break down myths and uncover some hidden gems in a fun and friendly atmosphere.

The new club launch comes after Burnham-on-Sea wine club announced they would be returning in time for the Christmas period and have since had one meeting which was extremely popular.

The Burnham social group has also shared plans that they will be hosting a Christmas party this December to help people stock up their wine racks ahead of the festive season.

The Cannington wine evening will be led by Sarah Milner-Simonds AWSET, Burnham Wine Club organiser.

She is Wine and Spirit Education Trust (WSET) trained and so has a broad knowledge of wine and wine tasting..

Wine tutor, Sarah Milner-Simonds said: "The first tasting evening will be on January 13 will be celebrating eight fantastic English white, red and sparkling wines.

"There have been some great developments in English wine production and we will showcase wines to let your taste buds decide if they are world-class yet. If you fancy understanding a bit more to help you get to grips with all that sniffing and swirling then come along."

The Cannington Wine Club is an offshoot of the Burnham Wine Club.

Co-organiser Beverley Milner-Simonds said:"We have launched the Cannington Wine Club to provide informal and tutored tasting events in the heart of the village.

"The group is open to all who want to enhance their appreciation of good drinks.

"You can expect high quality tutors, a great range of wines and topics in a local venue, with small enough groups that you get to learn and taste with enough room.

"Future tastings are planned for gin, beers, holiday wines and Loire wines."

The first meeting of the wine club is on January 13 2016,
