FOUR Queen’s College students took part in the 16th Paris Model United Nations.
On November 19, the college’s delegates, Elie Breton Des Loys, Finley Hislop, Natalie Houston and Sophia Halstrick, attended the conference, where they set out to represent Mexico.
Topics for debate throughout the weekend included tackling the role of neighbouring countries in a refugee crisis, reform of the UN organisation, limiting the use of arms by terrorist organisations and the right to privacy in the digital age.
With more than 800 delegates attending from schools all over the world, the Queen’s students gained experience of public speaking on a grand scale and even found time for some sightseeing before the journey back to Somerset.
