STUDENTS at Bridgwater College have been sampling the world of work as part on a new Challenge.
Last Wednesday, various businesses and organisations across the district to prepare for life in the working world.
Workplace experiences included The Armed Forces, Mulberry, Asda, Job Centre Plus, Somerset County Council, Sedgemoor District Council, L and F training, South West Highways and STEM.
The sessions comprised of production line activities, construction activities, understanding aerodynamics and vibration, hair and beauty, discussions on the impact of Hinkley Point C, team building and finding solutions activities as well as life as a worker.
Bridgwater College Academy was also able to offer students a taste of hospitality and catering through the Castle Hotel in Taunton.
The sessions comprised of students cooking, trying new foods, plating up food, table settings, waiter duties and serviette sculptures.
The Year 10 students all had a productive and informative day thanks to our guests and look forward to focussing their attention on how to achieve their desired pathways on Wednesday, October 12 at the Somerset Careers Fair.
