A 69-YEAR-OLD motorcyclist from the Ilminster area has died after a car crash in Kingweston.

The crash happened on Saturday morning at around 10.45am, involving a blue Mitsubishi, a red VW transporter and a red Ducati motorbike on the B3153.

The motorcyclist, a man from the Ilminster area, died at the scene from his injuries. 

The road was closed for several hours while an investigation was carried out.

If you witnessed the collision, or saw any of these vehicles in this area around the time of the collision, call the Collision Investigation Unit on 101 and give the call handler the reference number CI/198/16.

South Western Ambulance Service were called to the scene shortly before 10.45am.

A spokesman for the ambulance service said: "We were called to a crash between a car and a motorbike. There was one casualty, a male in his 60s who was riding the motorbike."

An air ambulance was also called the scene.
