One of EDF Energy's subsidiaries has scooped an honour for its hard work.
NNB GenCo won a Gold Award at the Considerate Constructors Scheme’s 2016 National Site Awards for the project in preparing for the new Hinkley Point C power station.
The award was presented in the category of sites with a project value of £10m and over, at a ceremony at The Mermaid, London, on April 27.
More than 3500 guests from construction sites of different sizes are attended award ceremonies during April at venues in Edinburgh, London and Manchester.
The annual awards recognise the highest levels of consideration and care shown by sites registered with the Considerate Constructors Scheme towards their neighbourhoods, the general public, their workforce and the environment.
Judged by scheme monitors visiting the sites, they rate the company's considerate performance against the Code of Considerate Practice.
NNB GenCo’s project involves the creation of a new development site to serve the two proposed 1650 Megawatt water reactors at Hinkley Point.
The site team was congratulated for their community engagement, appearance, workforce safety and environmental consideration.
Scheme chief executive, Edward Hardy, said: "Congratulations to NNB GenCo on achieving a Gold Award.
"This is an exceptional achievement and highlights how Considerate Constructors Scheme-registered sites are continually raising standards way above and beyond statutory requirements."
