ROADWORKS are set for an accident blackspot on the A39 near Cannington this September, say Hinkley Point.
The planned work is to improvement a roundabout between Sandford Hill Road and Charlynch Lane.
In a statement Hinkley said: “The We installed a new roundabout on the A39 was installed in 2014 to replace a sharp bend where accidents occurred. The roundabout and has made this section of the A39 safer.
“ItThe roundabout has since worn in a way that wasn’t envisaged and needs to be altered to install new, more prominent kerbs, to make it even safer. We plan to start in mid-September and expect it the work will take four weeks to complete.
“To maintain safety whilst the work is under way, two way traffic lights will be in operation on the A39 and Sandford Hill road and Charlynch lane will be closed where they join the roundabout. Access to properties will be maintained.”
The firm has said Aggregate Industries will take would be taking on the work and will be they would be working in the daytime on weekdays.
