KIND painting and decorating students from Somerset College have been volunteering their time to re-vamp the communal areas of Taunton Association for the Homeless' main residence Lindley House.

For the past three weeks, the 11 students have been spending three days a week, brightening up the accommodation.

A spokesperson for TAH said: "We would like to say a huge thank you to the 11 students, to their tutors Darren and Steve, to Louise at the college for setting it all up and to Somerset College, for lending us such dedicated and enthusiastic students.

"We could not do the work that we do without the fantastic community support we receive.”

Louise Morton, work placement officer at Somerset College added: “This has been a fantastic opportunity for our students to gain site experience and develop their practical skills whilst also helping an important local charity.

"Steve Baker, Darren Land and myself would like to thank TAH for enabling our students to carry out this project and we look forward to working together in the future.”

Each student received a certificate for their community work which will go towards their final qualification
