Bridgwater firefighters have spent more than two hours battling a large barn fire at Enmore Road, Durleigh, today.
Fire Control received several calls stating that a barn was on fire just after noon today.
Two fire appliances from Bridgwater, one from Nether Stowey and a water carrier from Bridgwater were mobilised.
The barn containing hay and straw was well alight when crews arrrived and firefighters got to work with a compressed air foam branch, a main jet and a hose reel jet to protect the neighbouring property.
Crews used drag forks and a main jet to turn over and damp down the contents of the barn and have isolated the electrics. A telehandler, one main jet and a hose reel jet were also used.
Just after 3pm the incident was scaled down to one pumping appliance and a water carrier, while crews remained damping down.
