THE countdown to Bridgwater’s biggest night of the year will begin this week as tickets for this year’s Guy Fawkes Carnival go on sale as well as seeing the launch of the 2015 Carnival activities.

Last year saw the largest crowd for years as thousands of spectators from far and wide descended on the town to watch the famous procession.

And with just over 220 days until the streets of the town are once again filled with the bright lights and music of the spectacular carnival carts, organisers are beginning the preparations.

The official launch of this year’s Carnival takes place tonight (Tuesday) when local businesses and organisations in the town are invited to attend to find out more about reaping the benefits that Carnival brings to Bridgwater.

Dave Stokes, Carnival spokesman, said: “Businesses are starting to tell us how much they value and appreciate the increased revenue and sales experienced from our wonderful community event.

“At tonight’s event we’ll be taking the opportunity to explain in more detail how local businesses could benefit by becoming more involved with Bridgwater Carnival.

“Whether it’s with sponsorship, advertising or even having a logo displayed on the screen on The Cornhill, there is something for every business to potentially benefit and enhance their profile by becoming a partner of Bridgwater Carnival.

“You will also be able to hear at first hand the experiences of other businesses that already benefit hugely from the impact of our carnival activities.”

The event is at Bar 27 from 6pm to 7.30pm and a light buffet will be served.
