UNEMPLOYMENT in Somerset is the lowest in the UK and has fallen faster than anywhere else.
New figures show that across the country the unemployment rate fell below 6% last month – the first time in six years. Somerset ha seen a 38.3% drop in the number of people claiming Jobseekers Allowance.
Lucy Martin, of the Job Centre, said youth unemployment in Somerset is also low, falling by 45% compared to December’s figures.
