A LANGPORT-based charity opened its doors to the local community last week to showcase some of its work and future plans.

National children's charity Bibic held its annual general meeting on Friday at Kelways on Somerton Road.

The charity helps children and young people with conditions affecting their development and learning abilities to achieve their potential for a happier and more fulfilled life.

Jon Shoesmith, interim CEO and Family Services Manager at Bibic, said: “We hosted our annual meeting and invited people from the community to come along and find out more about the work that we do.

“We have been in Langport since January, after moving from Bridgewater, and we have received great support from people in the area so we wanted to open our doors to them.

“Lots of people came along and chatted to our staff about the different services we offer. It was great to get to know the community a little bit better and to also spread the word about what we do and our exciting plans for the future.
