PARENTS, pupils and friends of Langford Budville Primary School, including some members of Wellington WI, joined together over two consecutive Friday evenings to sing Christmas carols at Langford Lakes Christmas Tree Farm.

The children gave an endearing rendition of the first verse of 'Silent Night', sung in German, before being joined in the other verses by parents and friends.

Molly Ramsay, aged nine, bravely sang a solo first verse of 'Once in Royal David's City' and then gave an impromptu performance of 'Only We Know'.

Erica Bond organizer, parent and visiting piano teacher at the school, said: ''This has been such an amazing and positive occasion for all involved.

“The whole experience has been so immensely encouraging for the children and has harnessed a real sense of community at this festive time of the year''.

Shelley Dennet (parent, school assistant and chair of Friends of Langford Budville School Association, added: “We are so immensely proud of what the children taking part have achieved tonight.

“Langford Budville School is a close-knit, happy and caring school and community events such as this only serve to enhance this fact.”

As well as allowing Langford Lakes Christmas Tree Farm to be used for the event, its owners, the Hendy family, also gave a £50 donation to the school.

Mrs Bond added: “We can't thank the Hendy family enough for their continued support of the school and for giving us this amazing opportunity.”
