CLAVELSHAY Barn restaurant near North Petherton is running a cheesemaking workshop next month.
The day will see those who go along learning the art of making your own blue hand-made cheese using traditional methods.
The hands-on workshop is being hosted by Sarah and Chris Styles-Power, of The Shebbear Cheese Company in Devon.
First of all, Sarah and Chris will guide the students through the cheese-making process, explaining cultures, rennets, draining, molding, salting and aging cheese, using everyday kitchen equipment.
People will also learn how to make two blue cheeses – Borough Blue and a Cambozola.
Culinary students will learn two different methods of adding the blue mould and then take the cheeses home to mature.
The restaurant will also be serving a lunch, including some of Sarah and Chris’s hand-made cheeses and seasonal ingredients from Somerset.
The workshop takes place on Saturday, October 25, from 10.30am to 4pm and costs £85 per person.
