A FUNDRAISING tattoo event held in Bridgwater on Saturday has helped raise more than £800 for a little girl who is battling a serious genetic condition.
The event at Steel Rose Tattoo Studio was held on behalf of brave little Tayen Gilbert, who has been undergoing chemotherapy treatment for several tumours on her brain.
Customers could select a special tattoo for £30, with £20 going towards buying Tayen an iPod so she can listen to it while in hospital. So far, £824 has been raised.
There was also be a raffle and cake stall for those who didn't want to get a tattoo but still wanted to donate.
Steel Rose staff thanked everyone who helped make the day a success.
Kade Beck, Tayen's auntie, said: “My sister and her husband have tattoos and Anne and Paul who run the studio see Tayen and they wanted to do something to help us.”
Tayen's family have set up a group they have called 'Tayen's Journey' which aims to keep family and friends updated on her progress and to raise awareness about her condition.
