BBC Radio 2’s Chris Evans lauded it the “not to be missed pre-Glastonbury Somerset Spree”, and now the Somerset Cheese, Cider and Moozic Fest is back next week . . . just days before the world’s leading music festival.

Attracting cheese and cider connoisseurs from across the land in search of Somerset’s finest nibbles and tipples, there’s plenty for all the family to see and do at the Fest at Cricketer Farm, Nether Stowey.

The main Fest on Saturday, June 21, begins at 1.30pm with an international line-up of bands, cheese and cider making lessons, talks from producers, and more than 30 different Somerset cheese varieties, not to mention over 60 Somerset ciders.

There’s plenty of live music to keep guests rocking and children can enjoy arts and crafts, butter making and much more.

Cider Pong, cheese tossing and welly wanging will be taking place, and there will be plenty of hog roasts and cheesy creations to enjoy.

The free entry Sunday Slowdown Farmers Market and Craft Fair returns from 10.30am, packed full of Fest and Somerset mementos, along with more live music, cheese and cider.

Greg Parsons, Fest founder, said: “This year’s Fest will be donating all profits to the Somerset Levels Relief Fund to help dairy farmers, producers and Somerset businesses recover from the recent floods.

“This promises to be a fantastically fun celebration of British produce and is a great reminder that supporting local farmers is crucial, especially in times of hardship.”

Tickets costing £20, £8 for children over five or £50 for two adults and two children can be purchased from www.somersetcheesecidermoozicfest.co.uk

On-site camping and caravanning starts from £10.
