OUTGOING Minehead Mayor Val Welch was present to help two women carry out their coastal walk from Minehead.

Felicity Bissett, from Aldeburgh, in Suffolk, and her daughter, Kasia Watson, from Berkhampsted, in Hertfordshire, are doing the walk in memory of Felicity’s great aunt, Isobel Wilson.

Isobel did the walk in 1871 and recorded the holiday in a journal which Felicity and Kasia are using to track their route.

They are photographed wearing the type of outfit similar to Isobel’s and are fund-raising for the Alzheimer’s Society.
