A FREE May Day family fun event is being held at Burnham’s Marine Cove Gardens.
A Fairy and Elf hunt will take place at the gardens on May 5 from 1pm and 4pm where children and their families can search under benches and in the flowers.
There will be a small gift for all children who enter, along with singing from Burnham on Song and dancing from St Joseph’s School children.
King Alfred Youth Brass Ensemble will be playing throughout the afternoon and the Chalice Morris Men will close the event at 3.30pm. Children are encouraged to dress as fairies or elves for a parade around the garden at 2pm. There will also be a wish tree so make sure you bring your wishes, they’ll be displayed around the garden.
If any girls are interested in becoming this year’s May Queen they are invited to attend the garden at 12.30pm to read through their favourite poem and tell judges a short piece of information about themselves.
This event, weather permitting, is being hosted by The Friends of Marine Cove and supported by Sedgemoor District Council.
