VOLUNTEERS are being sought for a contemporary art gallery project opening at Hestercombe House, near Taunton, next month.
The project is showcasing the work of leading artists, bringing together a mixture of sound and film pieces, sculpture, art and digital works.
The Hestercombe Gardens Trust wants enthusiastic people to give up their time to work in a range of capacities, including invigilators and guides to welcome visitors and talk to them about the art.
Volunteer training days are being held at the end of this month.
Hestercombe head of marketing Stephanie Holley said: “We’ve already got a wealth of volunteering talent working in other parts of Hestercombe, especially outside in the gardens, and they all really enjoy it, but this is something completely different.
“I’m sure there are people out there who would love to be part of this innovative project at Hestercombe from the very beginning.”
The trust is also looking for volunteers to work in the new second-hand bookshop in the main house.
It also wants to hear from anyone with carpentry skills who can help finish the transformation of the house before the gallery opening on May 24.
