TWO West Somerset College students have been competing in athletics at national level.
Elliot Scott, aged 16, has been representing Taunton Athletics Club at the Indoor Championships in the 400 metres.
On day one he worked through his heat and semi-final to compete on the final day and finished fifth.
He is now ranked sixth in the UK in the under-17s age group. Joe Barker, aged 14, competed in the cross-country event.
After winning the Sedgemoor area and coming seventh in the County Championships, he qualified for a place in the South West Championships in Bournemouth where he finished 16th overall and fourth for Somerset.
This was enough to give him a place in the squad for the nationals where he finished mid-table.
Joe is also a keen mountain bike racer and is a former South West champion, ranking fourth overall nationally.
He hopes to join the British Cycling Development Squad.
