RESIDENTS of Chard who have gone above and beyond for the town will be recognised at the annual parish meeting in May.

The Outstanding Service Awards will be presented by the Mayor, Cllr Jenny Kenton at the meeting in the Guildhall from 7pm on May 6.

Town clerk Sarah Robson said: “The council is seeking nominations from members of the public, of Chard residents who, have unselfishly contributed to helping their community.

“These awards are all about recognizing people within the town for the good work they have done helping others – it could be one single act or it could be over a number of years.

“We want to hear about these unsung heroes that have demonstrated outstanding voluntary service and commitment to others.”

If you know of someone who deserves recognition for services to the community please send your nomination in writing and addressed to the clerk at Chard Town Council offices at the Guildhall.

All nominations must be received no later than Friday, March 29.
