POWER has been restored to businesses on Market Way in North Petherton after a swift response by Western Power Distribution.
Steve Hill from Pynes of Somerset said: "We were without power for over an hour but Western Power were really fast. They got a generator in and everythings is back again."
BUSINESS owners in Bridgwater have been hit by a power cut right in the middle of the working day.
At 11:30am today, the power went out across 26 different businesses on Market Way in North Petherton.
The traffic lights have also gone down and Western Power Distribution have generators on the way to temporarily restore the power.
Jamie Livingston, manager at Bartletts Country Stores, said: "We have paper forms and other backups but there are no lights or anything so we are limited in what we can do."
A spokesperson from Western Power Distribution said: "Someone cut through our cable, affecting 26 customers. We cannot say exactly when it will be restored. We are hoping to get a generator down to have to see if we can sort them out."
