Punch Taverns seeks to alter Bridgwater pub

PUB chain Punch Taverns is seeking permission from Sedgemoor District Council to alter the Duke of Monmouth pub in Bridgwater’s High Street.

The company wants to install double doors, replace two awnings, repaint and replace the signage and do some internal alterations.

The Duke needs some TLC - I still have pictures of some of the "characters" (anyone remember Lezzo and Whizzit?) who used to drink there (and Gordie Howells himself RIP)... sadly it will probably end up competing with the Gallery and the other weekend pre-club venues...
