AN accident involving two cars has led to police closing a road in Bridgwater this afternoon (December 20).
Broadway in Bridgwater has been closed from Penel Orlieu down to Morrisons to allow for police and emergency services to work at the scene.
Speaking from the scene, Mercury photographer Jeff Searle said: “It looks like it’s just a shunt between two cars but there are four police cars and two ambulances attending.”
A spokesman from Avon and Somerset Police said: “Police were called to this incident at 11.54am today. Two Volkswagen cars were involved in a collision; one was a Lupo and the other was a Golf.
“One car has since been cleared from the road and police are working to clear the other. No one is believed to have been injured.”
