A MAN has been taken to hospital with two broken ribs following an attempted robbery in Taunton

The incident happened around 11.30pm on Friday November 29, 2013.

The victim was walking along Dorchester Road, near to the junction with Warwick Road when he was approached from behind by two men.

The men punched him on the back of the head, knocking him to his knees before kicking him in the chest.

The offenders fled the scene after a member of the public pulled up in a car alongside them and shouted.
