CREWS from Bridgwater and Somerton were called to reports of a derelict house on fire this evening (December 6).

Three fire engines went to the house next to Saltmoor Pumping Station, Burrowbridge, shortly after 6.30pm.

Upon arrival crews confirmed derelict building partially demolished, the remains of the roof to be well alight, and got to work using one hose reel jet to put the fire out, as well as providing lighting on the scene and cooling the boundary.
