A MAN has been airlifted to hospital after he was hit by a car at The Clink in Bridgwater this afternoon (December 5).
Police have cordoned off the road between Halfords and McDonalds to conduct their investigations.
A police officer at the scene told the Mercury: “A pedestrian was knocked over by a car.”
PC Jones, road policing officer at the scene, added: “He has been taken to Musgrove Park Hospital in Taunton. What we are doing at the moment is precautionary and we will not know the extent of his injuries until he has been assessed in hospital.
“We are hoping to open the road soon.”
