A HUGE solar farm of 33,000 panels spread over land equivalent to 30 football pitches has got planning approval.
Wessex Solar Energy is behind the £7million, 7MW project, proposed for fields at Pyde Drove, between Woolavington and East Huntspill.
The company says 50 workers will be on site during peak construction times.
The farm, which was approved by Sedgemoor District Council’s development control committee on Tuesday, should be completed early next year.
The committee gave the go-ahead “subject to additional conditions relating to an archaeological mitigation survey and hours of working.”
