Sucessful 2013 Minehead Flower Show results

Held at the West Somerset Community College in Alcombe, the event attracted entrants of all ages in a range of classes encompassing vegetables, fruit, home-made wine, handicrafts and visual arts alongside the traditional flowers.

Show manager Derek Blay thanked everyone who had worked so hard in preparing the hall and remarked how lucky they were to have so many flowers considering the dry summer.

Geoff Fuller, president of Minehead and District Gardeners’ Association, thanked the many businesses in the town which had made the show possible through sponsorship.

He introduced his predecessor, David Bryan, who presented the cups, before the Mayor, Cllr Val Welch, presented the Minehead Town Cup for the exhibitor with the most points to Robert Forgan.
