A PERSONAL trainer from Burnham says he is living his dream after landing a top job with a Premier League football side.

Callum Walsh has been named head of strength and conditioning at Cardiff City FC, who will begin life in English football’s top division this year after winning promotion.

Former Sidcot School pupil Callum, 28, has previously worked with lower-league sides Exeter City FC and Shrewsbury Town as well as academy players at Liverpool and Bristol City.

He told the Weekly News: “My main role involves looking after the strength and condition of players.

“We identify players who want to become stronger or help those needing to imp-rove movement patterns to minimise risk of injury as well as working with injured players.

“I love my job. It is exciting seeing players you have worked with come back from injury and score important goals or get man-of-the-match awards.

“My job is to ensure we keep players fit enough to perform.”
