POLICE are appealing for witnesses and information following a hit-and-run collision in Crewkerne.

At around 10.30am on Monday, March 5, an elderly woman was crossing the road at Market Square in a mobility scooter when she was in collision with a white transit type van.

A police spokseman said: "The vehicle failed to stop and drove off."

The elderly woman was not injured in the incident, but it resulted in around £500 worth of damage to her scooter.

Officers investigating this incident are appealing to anyone who witnessed this to come forward and contact them on 101.
