AN EX-HAYGROVE School student has taken part in a programme aimed at encouraging talented young women to enter the world of investment banking.
Ady Endicott, from Stogursey, was invited to the offices of global investment bank Goldman Sachs as part of the A-Level Girls INSPIRE Programme: Investing in Women of the Future.
To get a space among just 100 places at the conference, Ady had to impress the selectors through her web application, CV and a written statement on why she wanted to attend.
Ady, 17, said: “Investment banking is definitely what I want to do. I love looking at the decisions that government make and how it affects the global economy.
“I like taking risks, thinking on my feet, and feel I perform well under pressure.”
She experienced a taste of what working for Goldman Sachs would be like by visiting their offices in Blackfriars, London, and taking part in presentations, case studies and skills sessions.
She added: “I really enjoyed the event. They told us what Goldman Sachs was all about. We got to meet industry professionals and learnt about the importance of networking.”
Ady now hopes to get an internship at Goldman Sachs, which could lead to ten weeks of training in New York.
