THE car has now been removed from the scene but the police cordon is still in place.

POLICE have just released a statement following the incident.

They confirmed they were called at around 12.55pm today (February 26) with a report of a collision at the Angel Place Shopping Centre.

A spokesman said: “A black Toyota Yaris, driven by an elderly woman, has reversed through the main doors and into a shop window.

“The driver was complaining of neck pain and the car contained a male passenger.

“A pedestrian was slightly injured and the window and associated brickwork has been damaged.”

The car is being recovered.

Businesses are working to clear the debris from the inside of the shopping centre, while police have cordoned off the area.
