Wedmore school wins Somerset rugby final

HUGH Sexey Middle School has won the Somerset Schools Rugby Cup Final this week.
Kingsmead Community School in Wiveliscombe and Hugh Sexey Middle School in Blackford, Wedmore, competed in the Under 13 Somerset Schools Rugby Cup final at Taunton School on February 7.
Hugh Sexey took an early lead thanks to tries from students Ed and George and went on to win 38 - 5. More tries were run in by Jo and Kieran, but it was very much a team effort, brilliantly led by captain, Ollie.
Ollie said: “Kingsmead played with passion, skill and commitment - but could not match the pace and power of the Hugh Sexey team.”
