PLAYERS and coaching staff at Burnham United Football Club have been left bemused and angry following the theft of several fence posts from around their ground in Cassis Close.
Wooden posts have disappeared from behind both goals and the area around the dugouts.
Replacing them could cost up to £400.
The thefts were discovered before Saturday’s first team home game against Keynsham Town Reserves.
First team assistant manager John Harding said: “It’s frustrating because it costs us money and in this economic climate, we have to look after everything we’ve got.
“We have to have wooden fencing around the ground because of league rules.
“The game went ahead on Saturday but we’re going to have to put up rope up as a temporary measure until we can replace the posts.”
