TWO adults and a small child from the Bridgwater area had to be rescued from the roof of the car after getting trapped in floods last night (January 7).

Fire crews were called to their 4X4 stuck in floodwater in New Road, North Curry, at 8.15pm.

On arrival, they found the three people on the roof of the vehicle, which was in fast flowiong water.

Firefighters used a boat from the specialist rescue vehicle to rescue the three people, who were ferried to dry land unharmed.
