New business to open in Eastover
A ONCE empty store in Eastover has received the green light to become a thriving café.
Sedgemoor District Council has granted planning permission for Bulent Nazlikol to transform 37-39 Eastover into a business aimed at the Turkish community.
The building was previously used as an off-licence but the owners, who are Turkish, anticipate many customers will be Muslim, so alcohol will not be sold.
In a planning statement agents Shattock Associates said: “Many in this community work nights and therefore have few opportunities for a place to visit after work and unwind. This could often be at 1am.
“The café will form a much needed place of rest for a section of our society who currently miss out on facilities due to the nature of their work.”
The applicants want the café to be open 24-hours and will install sound proofing insulation in the ceiling to prevent any possible noise.
