Helen Lock, secretary of the Cuttiford’s Door Residents Association, joked at Monday’s meeting that it may not be long before land at Mount Hindrance could be used as paddy fields.
Mrs Lock, referring to the area being prone to flooding, said: “With climate change continuing, we will be able to grow rice there soon.”
More seriously, she added: “The proposed development would have a catastrophic impact on the locality.”
