9:00am Tuesday 27th November 2012 in Somerset
The headstone for Melissa George's long lost ancestors.
A HEADSTONE in a Taunton cemetery remembers the long lost ancestors of celebrity film and television actress Melissa George.
Australian Melissa, 36, posted a photo on social networking site Twitter of a headstone in her distant family’s name.
She Tweeted: “My long lost ancestors in Taunton, Somerset, didn’t get a headstone. So we had one made. Now they have an identity.”
The actress is well-known for her role as Angel Parrish in Australian soap opera Home and Away and featured in episodes of US sitcom Friends.
The headstone remembers Frederick Charles Thames (1889-1920) and Emma Helen Mounsher (1889-1918) with parents Lillian, Reginald and Florence featuring above a message saying ‘In loving memory from their Australian family’.
Melissa has recently been involved in television series Hunted and mini-series Bag of Bones.
