UNEMPLOYMENT in Sedgemoor is well above the South-West average but youth unemployment is at a four-year low, new figures reveal.
Those were two findings from the first Focus in Sedgemoor scorecard, which was shown to Sedgemoor District Council’s executive this week.
It reveals that unemployment in Sedgemoor is at 9.6% – above the South-West average of 6.4% and higher than the national average of 8.2%.
However, youth unemployment has fallen from 9.6% at the start of 2012 to 6.7%.
