FUNDRAISERS from the Valiant Soldier Inn at Roadwater have contributed £1,000 to help keep the Minehead lifeboats afloat.
The money was raised through sponsorship of the pub teams in this year’s RNLI raft race from Blue Anchor to Mineheadm and race organiser Derek Williams said the cash would push the total to £8,000.
Praising the Valiant regulars, he said: “They are almost the first to get their entry form in for the race and wherever they end up in the placings they are certainly the champions when it comes to fundraising.
“The great thing about the Valiant Soldier’s team is that the moment they announce they’re taking part again we can count on another major contribution.”
